Sir Rod Stewart says he rang into the show in because he often has Sky News in the background whilst working on his model railroad. He then sang Maggie May down the phone.

Great recent find from iconic MT progressive Jeanette Rankin, who voted against US entry into both WW I and II. Now I just need to figure out which of her two campaigns this originates from, 1916 or 1940 campaign.

Even funner fact. As ED he was so skeptical of McConnell’s chances that he refused for months to allow Reagan to film endorsement spot for MM as didn’t want him to be associated with a loss. All is long forgiven of course. But not amusing at the time.

Interesting model though part of the rub is that the deep red states where Ds are willing to step aside have too much cushion for an R (UT / ID) and the lighter red states where an Indie win is more feasible (MO / SC) becomes much heavier lift to ask Dems to stand down.

My column today – A mysterious visitor to DC approached US climate groups with an exotic proposal: run independent candidates who support climate action against red-state climate deniers It is a plan without US precedent. But it has worked elsewhere ... politico.com/news/magazine/

In 1988, Then-Senate Majority Robert Byrd motioned a 'Call to the House' in attempt to prevent an obstructionist walkout of Republican Senators. The motion was approved 45-3 and arrest warrants were issued for all 46 Senate Republicans until they returned to the Senate.

“There is not a better retail politician in the state of Mississippi, period. [Presley] knows how to connect with voters. He knows how to listen to voters, which I think is an underrated skill in a politician,” said Democratic strategist .”

No matter how many times I see it the commercial with Paul Giamatti dressed as Einstein holding a phone in the air and declaring “my network has gone kapoot!” will always be funny to me.
