After spending the last two years adapting my own work, I'm finally working on an adaptation of someone else's material and I really love it.

Keep in mind they will choose you right now bc they think they can under pay you & steal compensation for your labor. They aren’t going to treat you better than union writers And if they pretend to (they offer money money), it’s so they can screw your & others over later

Comics writers — no matter how stoked you are to work on media projects, if you’re solicited to do development work right now, you’re being asked to scab. This burns every team you want to work with, and your own future with them. Cite the strike, say no, and be patient. 💪

It's interesting as a comic book writer to see the existential threat of this strike being that writing will be pushed into a "gig" job where profits are consolidated at the top and barely anyone can make a living practising their craft. There's a lesson there, I think.
