hey Zack, thank u. What's the reason for scientists communicating warming with varying climate baselines? Just asking as layperson. For me/us, 1.5˚from pre-industrial is engraved in our grey jelly so it takes a mo to realize a different baseline for warming like in your tweet.

I'm not Zack, but I can explain a bit! Climate "normals" are usually measured in 30-year spans, about the amount of time it takes for us to be sure that the average is representative completely of the climate of that time period and not just the product of a few warm/cold years.
