This is likely to drop rapidly over the next 7 days due to the atmospheric configuration expected in the arctic and surrounding areas. 🤔

Based on the 10-day temperature forecast I think there’s a better than even chance of 2019 overtaking 2016 for the lowest for the date.

I was going to talk about the Swiss Cheese Effect but I think that these images make my point. That large area over Greenland is Rotten Ice v2019. It is ready to change state and soon. This Autumn we will have the Sea Ice Minimum in October. Last year it was Sept 15 & 23!!
