Deviation from mean or absolute temperature? If latter: are winter temps in 2000s really higher than summer temps in 1980s?

The colors and numbers represent the temperature rank from 1-41 for each respective month. No absolute temperatures or anomalies are shown on this graphic. I have other types of visuals (anomalies) at sites.uci.edu/zlabe/arctic-t

I am worried about the Swiss Cheese Effect and the fact that just by breaking up it can contribute latent heat.
Could you also outline the numbers in black? Some of the grey colors I can't see the yellow.

I count eleven #1’s on the infographic. Are you saying that May 2019 was the highest temp even among all those #1’s? Thanks in advance #notascientist 😄
