    If people are disabled by society, not by biology, are people ill because of society too? Should people ban chemotherapy, insulin and anti-retrovirals, and just try to stop 'society' from being 'exclusionary' and 'undiverse' towards those with serious illnesses? 🤔

    This is what 'activists' do. They bully the parents of profoundly disabled non-verbal autistic kids in a horribly smug & sanctimonious way. And no, you don't have the "same neurology" as this mother's daughter, as I'm sure neuroscientist can attest.

    Even private conversations nowadays are mentally policed by political correctness, where even private words are regarded as a species of thought criminality. It has to be said that we in the West have allowed this to happen due to our own flabbiness, self-treason and cowardice.

    Being eccentric or having foibles is not . Autism should only be diagnosed when it's sufficiently disabling enough to have a negative impact on one's life. It's not some edgy alternative identity and to pretend it is is to do a disservice for those who are truly disabled.

    This is a travesty of justice. A non-violent autistic man has been locked up with violent, mentally ill criminals in one of America's most notorious jails.

    Darius' attorney visited him all day in Rikers today- there was not a single corrections officer that didn’t offer condolences and disbelief. They know the meaning of dangerous and they know Darius is not anywhere close.

    In fact, the opposite is true, Rosemarie. It's the advocates who exclude and demonize both autistic people and their parents/carers, many of whom, for very legitimate reasons, disagree with the idea that should be a source of celebration.

    to undermine, belittle and even mentally attack the advocates for trying to do good. This, in my book, is what evil is made of. When you use the challenges of people to not only hurt them but keep them down. you are nothing but vile.

    Why have so many in academia succumbed to autism identity politics? Promoting stereotypes is not at all helpful to the ~40% of autistics with ID. I can't explain my daughter's autism fully in a tweet, but rest assured her autism & life experience is nothing like this girl's...
