Pretty sure by the time the child even knows what gender is they'll be able to use words

The problem is by that time they would've been told they're a certain gender so much that it'll be difficult for them to realize otherwise

Not really, there's this story about an 8 year old girl that was born a boy, even if she came to realize around 5 years of age that she was a girl. She talked about it with her parents and they understood and supported her

That's not the case for all trans people though Some of us don't realize until we're well into adulthood partially because of the gendering

Having some guide is not terrible though. It works for 95%+ of everyone so it can't be too bad. I would feel bad if I had a daughter and told them idk what gender they are so Ill call her 'they'

But you don't know until they tell you! That's the point It's not harmful to not gender someone until they tell you their gender themselves

I disagree, I haven't seen any studies on it but it seems like it would indeed cause problems down the line since that's part of one's identity

But not gendering them is giving them the room do discover that identity on their own terms, instead of prescribing it to them
