I just went to the sit-in clinic, they told me that they've seen 4 people with gunshot wounds, 25-30 people with asthma attacks and around 50 people beaten.

I keep asking who was shooting and I am consistently told it was RSF officers. One man told me he heard the distinct accent of the Arab Darfur tribes.

As I was leaving the sit-in just now a doctor I know told me she knows of four confirmed dead. Another doctor at the clinic on the peripheries of the sit-in said he saw five people dead on the floor in front of him. The number of fatalities is on the rise.

The rumour mill is on over drive: people think that officers from the former security apparatus have worn RSF uniforms and infiltrated the sit-in. Eyewitnesses told me it was RSF officers. A doctor that was beaten at iftar time said it was their young officers that hit her.

The gunfire was coming from one direction, many disappointed that the army did not step in to protect them. I saw a handful of soldiers inside the makeshift clinic helping with casualties.

One eyewitness just told me that an RSF convoy drove through during a shooting and told crowds "those are not RSF, they're wearing our uniforms."
