It includes a significant increase in funding for programs like EQIP and CSP that help farmers implement #conservation practices on their farms, plus an increase in how much of those program funds are set aside specifically for beginning farmers and farmers of color.
Also, making it easier to apply for those programs by simplifying contracts and taking the application process online.
The report recommends increasing land access and tenure to ensure that farmers can keep up their environmental stewardship in the future, by...
... supporting tax incentives to transfer land to young and beginning farmers; increasing USDA support for succession planning; and increasing funds for #farmland protection.
Additionally, expanding programs that provide support and training for beginning farmers, farmers of color, and veteran farmers—and making sure that farmers of color are in the driver’s seat in giving input.
Also ensuring that tribes have equitable representation and participation in all climate stewardship initiatives available to state & local entities, & recognizing traditional conservation practices that are equivalent to existing @USDA programs and eligible for federal funding.
The report also recommends making sure @USDA information and technical is available in multiple languages.
