        Interesting reading. Looks like most older people are selfish, after all and resentful of the fun of the young. This might also in part explain why academics (who tend to be older) are so reluctant to return to campuses. Happy to say my older friends and family cherish freedom.

        Remember that a much smaller proportion of over 65s went to uni than today. So one could argue that they don’t as easily appreciate why the ban should be an issue.

        Why are we giving them an excuse? They're literally massively saying that they don't think their grandchildren should see their families and be with their families at Christmas. There's no need for uni experience to come into it, this is terrible.
