Finally, we look at how current members might have voted in 2016 in retrospect. Asked to vote based on how they felt at the time, May beats Leadsom by 47% to 39%, but then asked to vote based on what they know now Leadsom wins by 54% to 30% https://yougov.co.uk/topics/politics/articles-reports/2019/06/18/four-more-discoveries-our-conservative-member-surv?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=website_article&utm_campaign=conservative_members_june_2019_more_things …pic.twitter.com/CtyIM56bI2

So these mad Brexiters favour Churchill - founder of a united Europe - and Thatcher - who fought to keep us in and was opposed to referendums. These people are seriously insane.

Odd that Tories think two losers (in actual Elections) are due more respect as leaders than a bloke that became their 1st PM in years AND won an increased majority! Oh and other real election winning PMs like John Major and Ted Heath

IDS and Hague have both had good post leaderships. IDS's work on social justice & welfare reform has gone down well with members, Hague had good period as elder statesman Foreign Secretary. Neither's turned into an embittered former leader still fighting battles of decades past.
