Yeah, people need negative feedback... but they don't like negative feedback.
People don't need heaps of negative feedback in the same way they don't need jail time. All they need is to know that negative feedback is possible, just like they need a law against murder. There should be an unspoken law against stupidity, and nobody should be above that law.
