People deal with uncertainty by taking more time to think. Groups deal with uncertainty by splitting into warring factions each betting on a different outcome. When leaders take their time to think, or ignore a problem, groups fight civil wars with no path to conflict resolution

Yes. His writing style is too elaborate and pseudo-scientific for me, but it's fairly well-researched for the genre, and even if you just read it for the bare facts/personal accounts, it's interesting
