Any designated domain fucker is perceived as not directly driving sales. And knowing that you're perceived as not driving sales is rarely hard - they'll tell you in not so subtle ways.

Isn't it a bit hard to determine what exactly is driving the sales, given that the product is a complex one?

I did say "perceived." To determine what's going on is often hard, but people still form simple stories telling what's going on, and these stories are usually well-known and not very numerous.
