Hmm isn't it better with subs? Or even better, English and Japanese Subs at the same time?

English without sub > English with English sub > English with Japanese sub > >>>>>>> dub

I see. That can work for English But Japanese is different i think. It messes with your brain. For example knowing Naka/中 and Kuni/国 but when combined together it's Chugoku not Nakaguni. And if already know Kami紙/Paper you can get confused for 神/God or 髪/Hair, same spelling.

I know...pronunciation is different but I understand

Better than that, learn Japanese and watch anime with the subs of a third language you want to learn. It did wonders for my German, was fun to watch and meant I had to focus on the intention rather than translating everything through English. Want to do the same with French, too
