I'll tell you this - one of my close cousins runs a car dealership, the gross margins there are <5%. They also have a service station at the same location, and that does 42%. Now, obviously more cars are fixed at a time than they're sold.

New Canaan story is one long cautionary tale. A well educated, smart man undone by living beyond his means. The most tragic victims? His wife and children.

Its a rare man who can be a successful bachelor (most single guys 35+ are fuckin weirdos). It takes self-love, self-reliance, and a forging through fire. But the ones who can...those are ones with a perspective to pay attention to.

I am 61 years old. I am disabled (Ehlers Danlos Syndrome.) I have been eating keto/low carb/ IF for the past not quite 17 months. No exercise. 100 pounds lost. If I can do it, anyone can do it. Can’t wait to add some weight lifting and see what happens.

Mrs. MH bribed me to be off social media all weekend. I listened to 12 albums from my favorite band, read 3/4 of a great self-help book, cleaned house, had donuts, cookies, bourbon, wine, played 🏀 w/ my girls, & 2 games of ⚽️. Best weekend in a while. Choose joy while you can.

I’ve never watched a basketball game and don’t give a shit who plays for who. But the death of a 41 year old self made man worth 500 mil after a lifetime of hard work is tragic. To argue otherwise is to beg for attention in the most abhorrent manner. Be nice. Motherfuckers.

In truth, AAPL (12% weight) moved BEFORE QQQ did, and AMZN (7% weight) is flat, if that theory were even partly true AMZN would show similar returns, for a long time market participant to be so ill informed is crazy...just shows how luck can make you think your smart

not fin,it's crazy that a guy with 900 times more in wealth than me, has no fucking clue how markets function, same with M Burry calling for "crash" because of funds, stupid (almost as stupid as a fucking GME position) funds are not the problem, your shitty investments are...

Good reasons to own a home: -psychic income -schools/community -forced savings -sense of permanence/stability Bad reasons: -it’s always a good investment -prices only go up -peer pressure Owning a Home Isn’t for Everyone

Just learned Epic (healthcare’s biggest electronic medical records system) was founded by a then 35-yr old woman named Judith Faulkner. She’s now 76 years old, still CEO, and owns most of the $14B+ business. Wow.

You must find peace in the mundane. You must find balance between too much and not enough. Striving for excellence is not a bad thing, striving for excellence at the expense of your mental health and family is another.

This world will tell you it's never enough. There is always a better car, city, job, dollar amount, follower count. You're striving to reach the peak of someone else, not necessarily you.

Memory is strange. We look back on our lives and think we remember the story, but we really don’t. I was randomly reading some emails from 2005. I was struck by how many events I have absolutely zero memory of. It’s a strong case for a journal.

SF is such a lost city, progressive politics is failing the very people we seek to protect and foster.
