You don't have to upgrade. 1.4 will work as long as the platforms support it. You'll receive 50% but for feature parity, yes, you're right.

@humble I wouldnt own GMS 1.4. This pricing/business model is just insane to me -
Same for me, althrough i finished to not use GM 1.4 at all. Tested Love 2D on a project and now jumping on the crazy good Godot 3.0

Nope. This is an upgrade path from 1.4 to 2. It's not a spread discount across 2 modules.
