When I was only a hobbyist, game dev was my only escape from school and homework... Funny how it turned out to be more beneficial than school itself.

I liked the challenge of coding and trying to figure out how to solve logical problems, I liked to illustrate and animate. So it combined all these things that I enjoyed doing :)

As a kid I would clash toys with fixed poses together and fill in the details of an action scene in my head. Learning to make games meant that it no longer had to be confined to my imagination and I could share my vision with other people.

omg yes, I loved those toys that had like joints so I could give them poses. It was like doing skeletal animation before I even knew what it was, and I loved it.

I make games entirely for friends and family. Engagement gifts, razzing a friend, etc. Without too much prior coding experience, gml is like, solve enough maths, direct your own movie

Programming, problem solving, logistics, pure creativity, its mine, im proud of it, it's fun--though hard, and that constant urge to know if your amazing ideas translate into a fun playable game.
