Wait, So in order to continue to the IDE, you are requiring me to give you more personal information? So to comply with one EU guidelines you decided to break a few more?

Why do you "need" my date of birth to run GameMaker? You don't. YoYo Games have been the target of multiple serious data breaches over the years exposing 200,000+ users. The inadequate handling of those breaches doesn't give me the confidence to submit such personal data now.

Due to GDPR, it is illegal to store a users information if they are under 18 without parental permission. This applies even if the person lies about the fact they live in the EU. So basically, the EU made it so the safest thing to do is to ask everyone in the world their age.
