This reminds me of the few Egyptian tombs found that dismiss a rulers sexuality despite the Pharo being buried with another man under a mural of thier noses touching; that being a classic sign for kissing. Nope just bros that have wedding gear on that like to kiss.

For those about this story, it's about Niankhkhnum and Khnumhotep. This is apparently " oldest evidence of queer lives in existence."https://www.them.us/story/themstory-ancient-egypt …

If you want to see something wild, look at the Archives of American Art's oral history interview with Paul Cadmus from the 80s, where every time things start going in a gay direction, the interviewer panics, interrupts, and changes the subject.

I pissed off a college professor so much by writing a paper about a queer interpretation of a Shakespeare sonnet. A really queer one.

Also reminds me of a story of two kings in the 1400s, that had no ayrs, and that had a tunnel connect their bed chambers. For some reason historians couldn't figure out why they had the tunnel...

KING JAMES THE VI (1567)! That's it. From the Wikipedia page, his lovers were Esme Stewart, Robert Carr, and George Villiers. He was said to "tumble and kiss as a mistress" with George. At Apethrope Palace between 2004-08 a tunnel linking George's and his bedrooms was uncovered.

Wasn't this King James as in the King James bible?
-
No much, much later. We're talking late 1500's into the first quarter of 1600's. He was king of Scotland as James VI. Then later he would take the title James I, holding rule over England and Ireland in a sovereign pack with Scotland until he died. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_VI_and_I …

Same James! Hated witches, liked having sex with men and commissioning English language bibles. Few centuries later we had another reigning monarch who seems to have been into the same sex - Queen Anne. She is known for... idk a furniture style I guess.
