YES. And the fact that he took those life experiences and then chose to purposely abuse people living in abuse and/or poverty tells us all we need to know about his humanity. Or lack thereof.https://twitter.com/Dirigo1820/status/1078804443087491079 …

For 8 years people have excused LePage’s behavior because he was abused and grew up in poverty. Just stop it already. I was abused and grew up in poverty and I’ve never done or said any of the terrible things he’s done and said. Abuse and poverty don’t make you a sociopath.

Given my recent experiences, we don't know who will or will not develop bad behavior because of abuse/poverty.. Some people turn out fine, some don't. There are genetics involved.. but Borderline Personality Disorder, Sociopathy, etc, are real. I am not forgiving LePage, but..

I guess my point is that we should be far more aware of the fact that poverty causes (some) people to turn into garbage people.. and they effect society.. and we should all want to stop/prevent that.

There are side effects for sure. I have depression and anxiety. Could that be because of how I grew up? Absolutely. Or it could be genetics. Or it could be a little of both. I’m just sick of people giving LePage a free pass because he had it rough.

He also had a lot of help, a lot of advantages, a lot of privileges that most of us don’t have. e.g. Olympia Snowe’s first husband pulled strings so that young LePage could take the SATs in French instead of English.

What enrages me is that he doesn’t want disadvantaged people to have any help, even though he himself got tons of help and wouldn’t be where he is today if it hadn’t been for all that help.

THIS! It KILLS me that he wanted to cut funding for a program that was supposed to help with preventing child abuse.
