But again, we've gotten off into the weeds, and this isn't entirely relevant to the original argument being this whole thing is an overreaction on YouTube's part and wasn't actually *started* by Steven.

It's 100% relevant. Steven started this thing with his use of homophobic language, if he hadn't there would be nothing reportable and this conversation wouldn't be happening. Now that he's in trouble for it, he's pulling a "this is everyone's fault but mine"

This 'voxpocalypse' is 100% the result of Crowder's choice of language, not the people who brought it to Youtube's attention. He's panicking now and shifting blame because he can't face the consequences of his actions

Well not really. He's been doing the same sort of content he's been doing for 10 years now. Carlos is the one carrying on, and was encouraging people to harass YouTube over it.

As I mentioned earlier, Steven is getting virtually zero revenue from YouTube, so he has nothing to panic about.

Well then... who cares if he gets banned? He's wasting his time on Youtube anyway, apparently

Well he's not getting banned which is the whole point of why Carlos is throwing a fit.

I mean, there are a lot of people angry about it, but I see you've been drinking Crowder's "everything was Carlos' fault" juice. "If he hadn't been gay, I wouldn't have said those things!!"

Nope not what I'm saying at all. Carlos chose to make a public issue out of it rather than deal with YouTube or Steven directly. As for your latter comment: yes. Because comedy. Because making fun of people for any aspect is what comedians do.

Carlos dealt with YouTube directly for a year before taking it public, dude. Uh, also what you described isn't comedy. There IS a word for what you're talking about, though: bullying

So you're saying he tried repeatedly for a year, but didn't get his own way, leading to his attempt to publicly shame and drag YouTube, in order to enforce action, only for them to say @scrowder hasn't violated YouTube's TOS, leading to the #VoxAdpocolypse?
