With every fiber of my being, I wish Americans would rise up in mass protest this week to shut down the entire capital & show the world how we feel. I think I will go to my grave not understanding why we never protested in mass numbers. I think history will be befuddled too.

Many have asked if the House managers can move for a mistrial. Here are my quick thoughts: I wish Schiff WOULD make a motion for a mistrial based on, among other things, the revelation of Cipollone’s grossly unethical conduct/conflicts of interest. I wouldn’t be deterred that...

This is so wonderful and I'm so glad to have been alive to see it, just hours after I reminded Red State America that Trump doesn't know anything about them and doesn't give a shit about them. Someone didn't get the phone out of his hand in time :)

Today’s 51-49 vote for no witnesses, no evidence, hence no real trial makes next Wednesday’s baked-in vote to acquit wholly anticlimactic: fake trial = fake acquittal = no exoneration at all.

Supporting Trump's cheating is so Republicans can keep suppressing votes & gerrymandering to cheat to win elections. Republicans have rigged elections for decades. GOP admits if black people voted Republican, voter ID laws wouldn't happen. Hispanic voters

With their votes to make the American president accountable to no one, Republican senators have put the interests of one president over the interests of all Americans. The only remedy now is for us all to vote in overwhelming numbers to replace them—and him—in November.

Jefferson once said: “I consider trial by jury as the only anchor yet imagined by man by which a government can be held to the principles of its Constitution.” Remove that anchor, and we are adrift. But if we hold fast, if we put our faith in the truth, This storm will pass.

Remember that and have far more leverage than they show. They could, for instance, announce that in the absence of witnesses they would be forced to vote against acquittal. That would be a STRONG signal and NOT hand Trump a seeming victory.

Today I am missing John McCain. A man who I proudly voted for & who always moved to the beat of his own drum. He never feared a vengeful president but did fear not living up to his own lofty expectations of himself to do his best for his people & country. May he Rest In Peace.

More than three-quarters of Americans want a fair trial with witnesses. The GOP leadership thinks they can turn their back on the American people and impose their will on them. Make you angry? That's what it feels like not to live in a democracy. Fight back. Win it back.

After tonight, I never want to hear another Democratic voter complain about not feeling "energized" or "heard" or "enthused" or "excited." Vote for your primary choice, and then be ice-cold in your determination to show up at the polls and vote for the nominee, whoever it is.
