But you made it out eventually. I think it’s a slow process- at least it was for me. I understood what I was reading too...but you can only make excuses and rationalize for so long before it just gets too much.

Thats true. In most of the muslim societies priority is given to recite quran in different melodies and byheart the text rather than reading the quran to understand it. If they read to understand it, there is a high chance they would reject it.
