I was commonly told to stop acting like a Jew when I was growing up. Asking questions is considered ‘acting Jewish’. “Why do you ask so many questions like the Jews?! Just shut your mouth and do as you’re told!”

I think this was to demonize the act of thinking critically so that ppl would be more eager to conform. If asking questions (ie thinking) is considered a Jewish trait, ppl would avoid it. The Quran is full of stories of Jews asking too many questions.
