Where are the 'clerical empires' going to for for their information? What is the primary source that they cite?
Also, dont forget that 90% of Muslims (Sunnis) couldnt care less what a cleric says. The only person who's opinion they respect died 1400 yrs ago. They go straight to the word of Allah.

Neither Al Azhar or Saudi would dare make the slightest change and you know that. That is exactly why the Quran is memorized by millions of ppl---to ensure that it can never be changed by clerics. It is in the mind of the ummah.
