"Christianity is bullshit, but it gave us human rights and Western values." Christianity didn't give us 'Western values.' Greek and other philosophers discussed ethics in greater detail. Christianity was a step backwards. The Enlightenment gave us these values, not the bible.

The point is Yasmine, if you look at all the "good things" in religion, they all existed prior to and outside of religion. Religion co-opted the "good things" as a cover for all the bad shit.
Religions are man-made anyway...so, still us regardless.
No, I get that. My point is when ppl say Western civilization was borne from Christian values..it doesn’t bother me like it bothers some. Religious values, pagan values, philosophy, science, etc all led to the enlightenment values...you know what I mean? It’s just human progress.

You're talking utter shit again. 'Western values' were not borne of religion. The miserable religion of which you speak has done nothing but oppress, imprison, penalize from it's terrible inception. They co-opt the word 'philosophy' for their own ends, want to deny free thought.
