Actually I kind of disagree. You shouldn't respect any laws that are against your moral conscience. If there's any reason to not disrespect such a law, it should be out of self-preservation (being arrested, punished by law, etc), not out of any sense of 'respect' for it.

If it’s a law...then naturally that means there are fines or imprisonment for not adhering. I don’t have to respect their culture, but if I’m living in their country, I have to respect their laws.
