As a lifelong American, I can’t imagine another country performing air strikes on our soil in order to teach our leaders a lesson. I have a hard time imagining I’d want that. If that happened, it would mean that the US basically at the mercy of another country. It’s weird idea.

It’s possible rest of world does see US as “ultimate boss.” Like, we are parent and all other countries are siblings squabbling. I’ve seen it in movies where characters wonder when Americans will save them. 0.o But it makes me uncomfortable to imagine my country in that role. :/

I absolutely agree. If the USA was standing idly by while tens of thousands of civilians were gassed to death, I bet those very same people would have complained you should've done something.

How do you know it is in fact pro-Assad forces using chemical weapons and not anti-Assad forces trying to draw US deeper into the conflict?
