Much less. It’s actually ridiculous. Both groups share the same core beliefs, same Quran, same Hadith...the fight was initially over who would be Muhammad’s successor, really. Some chose his friend (Sunni), others his family (Shia).
Religion has often done more to divide than to unite.
Disagree, religion itself brings people together because it preaches that everyone was created equal and so on...but yes some people use religion to divide people (for their own gain), the same way they try to divide people by race, sexe, borders....divide and conquer.

Actually, no muslim has the right to call another person a disbeliever unless the person says so himself. You can't judge the faith of others, it's between them and God. The only hate between shia's and sunni's is Iran vs Saudi, the ppl don't hate each other, stop generalizing.
