The hate crimes are a reaction (but not nearly as severe, of course) to the crimes perpetrated by Muslims across the planet. Weird how nobody worries about how coverage of "Israel" and "Zionists" perpetuates antisemitism, which happens at a distinctly higher rate than Islamophobia

So many groups complain that they’re underrepresented in media, yet none of them are victims of hate crimes. In contrast, Jews are highly represented in media, yet they’re the #1 victims. The correlation she made is simply stupid.

Anti-semitism is almost as old as civilization itself. "Islamophobia" in the popular sense didn't really make a lot of waves in the US until after 9/11, and there's still a lot less of it than anti-semitism, which tells you something, given what happened.

By her logic, hate crimes against Muslims should have been worse in the past because Muslims were represented even less in the media. These days hijabis are everywhere, so the hate crimes should be decreasing. But that’s not happening because the correlation she’s making is dumb.
