The hate crimes are a reaction (but not nearly as severe, of course) to the crimes perpetrated by Muslims across the planet. To be fair however - no matter the realities of terrorism (and I certainly am willing to acknowledge that openly) - not one hate crime against an innocent Muslim is ever justifiable, and the blame lies squarely with the perpetrator of that crime.
Of course. But we need to acknowledge that the root of this problem is not that Muslims are underrepresented in media, it’s that Islam needs to be reformed or abandoned. You can’t find an answer if you refuse to look at the question.
