Well, that’s a very uncharitable reading. My point is: the crux of this issue is the violence in Islam, not Muslims being underrepresented in media.

Foreign policy is a legitimate thing to blame for hate against the West. It does play a part. Read Radical by Maajid Nawaz or speak to jihadis, like I have. Citing underrepresentation in media as a reason for hate crimes against Muslims is stupid.

No, the crux is racism and xenophobia being targeted at people perceived as “other”. Most anti-Muslim bigots couldn’t care less about Islamic ideology or violence as they tend to be violent social hyper-conservatives as well. They just don’t like the source (brown people).
