I fucking hate religion. I've criticised and ridiculed it for 40 years. Yet if my government tried to ban it or criminalise it, I would march alongside those poor fools and fight hard for their right to believe any fucking stupid nonsense they chose.

Not sure Gervais will do that, Yasmine. It may not fit his narrative because he has to criticize Islamic countries which he will be paranoid to do, in my opinion, but let's hope he replies.
I think it’s the same for all entertainers...they have to be careful not to alienate their fans. His Atheist fans won’t back him up. They have no issue if he bashes other religions though. But I get it’s his livelihood. That’s why Hitch was so great...he wasn’t a slave to that.
