Caste discrimination is an assault on another person, another community of persons. Needs to be condemned. Hijab on the other hand is personal choice. I would neither recommend it a non-user; nor would I criticise a hijab-user. It's their choice. That, you pratt, is the diffrnce

Hijab would be a choice only when people stop manipulating 3 year old girls into wearing it.

All religion is indoctrination. Indoctrination of young girls into certain modes of behaviour is near universal in a misogynistic society like India. In any case if you believe that then oppose the indoctrination. Dont further victimise the hijab wearer.

I don’t think hijab. Wearers should be victimised but a public discourse on this is necessary. Young girls need to know they can exist without covering up to Please their god/male relatives.

Long sleeves? ankle length skirts? long hair? make up or no make up? what else would you want to have a discourse on? its madness to make personal choice a public debate subject.

This is absolute crap. He insists hijab is not forced but then says its a very important part of islam .It can be one or the other not both- either unimportant or important enough for religious people to force on women. I prefer reading people like

Both the man you were arguing w and the man he cited are full of crap. Girls are killed for not wearing hijab. Women are imprisoned. Those are Facts.
Neither of those men have ever worn a hijab and they know nothing of it. Or they’re liars.
