A different culture is when people wear different clothes, create different music, eat different food, celebrate different holidays, etc. Violation of human rights is not a culture, and even it were, in this case, it wouldn`t deserve anything but contempt.

That was painful to listen to. Who are we to judge? People who are disgusted because humans are STILL treated that way, people who wonder about the cost to humanity's potential knowledge/talent wasted due to [at least] 1/2 of their populations being kept in abject ignorance.

But aren't there certain basic universal human rights almost all countries, cultures agree to & if certain groups within those cultures violate those rights, would it not be mandatory for anyone to uphold those rights by any means necessary?
