But it’s not just
#FGM-it’s child marriage, honor violence, forced hijab etc etc. Yes, men are involved in all those things. But at many points there are women involved too. If those women refused to go along w whatever the crime, it would make it a lot harder for the men. /2Show this thread -
My life would have been phenomenally different if I had a mother who stood up for me. But instead, like most mothers in those areas, she was an active participant in perpetuating the misogyny. Rather than stopping the cycle, she chose to pass it down to the next generation. /3

OMG that's a perfectly repugnant example of the bigotry of low expectations!! The spokesperson for that police dept. would NEVER EVER allow their own daughter to have to suffer through FGM. NOT EVER. But apparently they don't feel the same when it comes to Muslim daughters...
