Quran is a revelation; it deserves to be exalted and Allah teaches us how to do so. The Quranic ayah of the ‘pure ones’ does not only refer to menstruating women but to any person in a state of ritual impurity, whether minor or major, male or female.
So you understand that it’s because a woman is impure-not because Allah is trying to give her a break. Why would he make her impure then punish her for it? There’s a Hadith that says Hell has more women because we worship/pray less than men do. Does that seem fair to you?

He makes us impure, forbids us from praying, then punishes us by throwing us in Hell for not praying as much as men do. How does that make sense?
