To be fair, head state of the UNHRC rotates, so it was only a matter of time before Saudi Arabia got it. That said, the UNHRC will never do anything regarding religious freedom in Islamic countries, bc a large voting block in UN, is the OIC.
The largest* aren’t they? That also explains all the disproportionate condemnations of Israel

1) Yeah, they're up there. They're one of if not *the* largest voting block. Idk why people are so obsessed with the UN, anyways. They have no real binding power except through the UNSC, and they've *never* really done anything bc they have no will to.

2) (OIC also bully smaller states) But the fact still remains, the only real enforcement power the UN has, is through Peacekeeping missions, and there's no way they'll ever launch any form of intervention with armed peacekeepers to aid religious freedom. It's a fantasy, sadly...
