I’m a Humanist. That means I don’t care about religion or ethnicity. So many ppl saying: How are you standing up for Jews? Their religion is as bad as Islam! But no one *EVER* asks me why I stand up for Muslims. I’m standing up for humans, not their religions. /1

Jews have been/are a minority that have been/are hunted with obsessive hate from countless groups. My dad is from Gaza. Google what they teach children about Jews there. Google the puppets teaching kids to kill Jews and the stores called Hitler /2

I support Israel because I support Jewish ppl having one piece of this planet where they can be safe from all the vicious and disgusting hate from all sides. I can’t imagine a Humanist having any other stance. /3

OF COURSE Israel makes mistakes. Name one country that doesn’t. But they’re doing leaps and bounds better than their neighbors in the Middle East. /4

Excellent thread. One concern about Israel is be that, when fighting monsters, it’s difficult not to become a monster. (To be clear “monsters” in this case is violent militants that won’t ever be placated by a political solution. It is emphatically not Muslims or Islam).

This is why most Muslim majority countries sway between Islamic governments or dictators. It takes a monster to stop a monster.
