I think the element that makes Islam so successful, in the Arab world at least, is that it isn’t a reading culture. There’s no bedtime stories, no trips to the local public library-love of reading isn’t instilled in children (#NotAll). They’re encouraged to read just one book /1

I think that's a great point. It was partly my love of reading that opened my mind to POVs beyond the fundamentalist Christian beliefs I was taught as a child.

And teach your kids to value evidence above all else. I tell my kids to question me if something I am saying doesn't sound correct. And sometimes it's not and I learn from my girls.

True, our home have every room and corner full of books. Not only, our tablets and phones with lots of books own, borrowed (local lib digital issue), and our whole family is immersed in reading. We enjoy hist sci lang & arts and anything in between.
