Unfortunately the foundations of Islam (Koran, Hadith, Sira) r so toxic it will never be fixed. Avoidance is the only solution. Look at horrors occurring in the U.K. with only 5% Muslim population. Things r getting worse globally. Just look at Pakistan, Europe, Indonesia, etc.

Turkey was reformed Secular country in which govt controlled mosques & almost everyone identified as Muslim. Now it's divided country run by Islamist dictator hated by half the people. That's lesson on rising danger of Islamism. Says nothing about reformists.

Yes, indeed he was seen as a moderate Islamist, and with the benefit of hindsight, that was a big mistake. But reformist Muslims in west are not Islamists, and there is zero chance of Islamist govt power. UK 95% non-Muslim.
