true and I read somewhere Hijab was not what women wore in Preophet's time.They used to cover to protect body from sand storm and high temperature but idea to cover from head to toe was not there

this today's Hijab like dress got currency only when the society started treating women as kind of chattel that needs to be 'protected' from prying eyes.

According to what I've been told the Koran only says to cover from the neck to the knees. It's the Hadith that says women have to cover up more.
