I was born and raised in the West and I was forced to wear it from age of 9. These ideas don’t have borders. The same family/community shackles apply-except for govt, obviously. Women have to break through MORE barriers in Saudi, but there are barriers here too.

I know, in comparison, it seems like it’s rainbows and butterflies here in the West. I get that. But just like only a minority of women in Saudi have the courage to defy their families, the same is true here. Again, ppl are ppl. It’s harder there, but it’s still hard here.

We all have our own battles. When you’re fighting an all out vicious war, it’s hard to sympathize w ppl dealing w much smaller issues in comparison to yours, but to them, it’s the battle of their lives.
