Exactly. If that were the case, all Muslim Reformers, moderate, and basically any Muslim not aiming to create a caliphate and die a martyr is fake too. That’s a common accusation from conservative Muslims-but to hear it coming from liberal Westerners is so weird.

Can we not use a stronger term than "weird?" You're a Muslim who supports liberal values such as secularism? Oh but not an authentic Muslim because we've bought into conservative & authentic being synonymous. Yeah a stronger term can be used I think.
