One of the most debilitating things I was told as a child was 'Your whole life was written by Allah before you were born'.

It made me feel depressed,helpless, complacent, and lifeless. What's the point of doing anything if you're not in control of any of it?

If I tried and failed, it was because my faith wasnt strong enough. If I succeeded, it was because Allah willed it.

I could only internalize the blame when things went wrong, but I couldn't internalize the pride when things went right.

So naturally, if my only fuel was negativity, eventually I'd run out of energy. I gave up and let Allah control my life as he willed.

So, of course, I was like a leaf in the wind-I just let myself be controlled, thinking it was Allah, and thinking he'd never lead me astray.

Don't let go and let Jesus take the wheel-Fuck that noise so bad. Please hold on to that wheel. Youre only guaranteed one life. Carpe Diem.
