My Uber driver and I hated on the term POC. He's Cuban/Mexican-his wife is white. He said the term pits him and their daughter vs his wife.

He said 'everyone thinks I'm Black'. And this label is even worse cuz it lumps in everyone w a tan as one group. And what of mixed ppl?
-
It's ironic that it was coined by ppl supposedly concerned about racism, but it's actually about as racist as a term can get.

Honestly. How is "people of color" any different from "colored people"? ***IT'S THE SAME WORDS*** Humans are such bizarre creatures.

The 'color' factor is used by politicians & media to keep us split because to them securing voting base whether R or D it's always greed

Don't mind "coloured person". Think PoC sounds silly. Something from a storybook. "Find the People of Colour, so they can fix our rainbow!"
-
Not that I particularly think of myself in racial terms, as a coloured person. But I don't find the term offensive or anything.

Perhaps we should switch to "People of Varying Skin Tones". Then it would be us versus albinos.

The terms black and white are as divisive as any. Black and white people don't exist. Pink and brown and many hues in between, yes, B&W, no.
