In Canada we allow Sikh students to carry knives, but not other students. Whether it's a kirpan or a niqab, religion over safety is wrong.

This ruling set the precedent for others to claim that niqab was a religious requirement (bullshit). It opens a dangerous door.

Now, in US, FGM is being defended as a 'religious requirement'. That's what happens when you open the door. You can't control what comes in.

I'm a Christian American and I don't believe anyone's religion should subvert the laws of the land. Religion is separate from law.

I guess it's the rules around the knife. Only to be used to defend others. And you only get to have one if you are baptised (or equivalent)
