No. This is typical. Most Muslims have no idea what they're saying when they recite Quran. Only the Arabs do (and they're a minority).

Those in Turkey who can read the Quran don't even speak or write Arabic because it's just too hard to learn... They just memorize the words

Yup, not sure what she's on about. Muslim kids are taught to memorize the Quran...very few understand what they're actually saying.

We learned to recite. We were never taught the meaning of what we were learning. So we can read Arabic just not understand it

No. And the Arabic they forced on us in high school was only good for passing tests. Not reading the Quran.

I have no idea what she is talking about. Urdu is my mother tongue and the Arabic lessons I had at 5 were not classical Arabic

When I was growing up in the '80s, most Muslim kids just learned to sound the Quran out in Arabic. They don't actually learn the language.
