Some of my most religious South Asian relatives both in Pakistan & here (v similar to those shown in the show) don't wear hijab.
Whaaaat? That's super weird. What makes them religious? Are you just calling them religious cuz they're more religious than other relatives?

It's still common among South Asians. V religious, praying 5+ times, reading Quran daily at dawn but hijab only during religious activities.

Could be a case of 'it's all relative'. Compared to ppl who never pray, a dude who prays in Fridays could be considered 'religious'
